Laser Brightness Reduction

Gradual dimming over 15,000-20,000 hours as the laser diodes degrade. Individual diodes in the triple-laser array (LSP9T) lose output at different rates, causing colour shift alongside brightness loss. We diagnose each diode's output, replace degraded emitters, and recalibrate the white point to factory specification.

UST Lens Dust Contamination

Ultra-short-throw projectors have complex multi-element lens assemblies close to the projection surface. Dust ingress causes soft focus, reduced contrast, and visible artefacts on bright scenes. We disassemble the lens system in a clean-room environment, clean each optical element, and recalibrate focus uniformity.

Tizen OS Performance Issues

Freezing, app crashes, slow navigation, or boot loops. The Tizen operating system suffers from cache corruption, insufficient storage, or firmware bugs. We perform a full factory reset, update to the latest stable firmware, and clear system caches. For persistent issues, we replace the eMMC storage module.

Auto-Focus System Drift

The motorised focus mechanism loses calibration, resulting in soft edges or inconsistent sharpness across the image. The focus sensor may also accumulate dust. We clean the focus sensor, recalibrate the focus motor travel range, and validate edge-to-edge sharpness with test patterns.

HDR Tone Mapping Errors

HDR10 and HLG content appears washed out or exhibits banding in bright highlights. The tone mapping processor firmware may be outdated, or the laser modulation curve has drifted. We update firmware and recalibrate the HDR EOTF (Electro-Optical Transfer Function) curve to match the display's current output capability.

Internal Speaker Audio Distortion

The built-in speaker system (30W on LSP9T, 20W on LSP7T) develops rattling or crackling. Caused by speaker cone deterioration or amplifier IC overheating. We replace the speaker drivers and service the audio amplifier board, restoring the advertised sound quality.

Triple Laser (LSP9T)

Separate red, green, and blue laser diodes produce pure primaries without a colour wheel. Achieves 106% of DCI-P3 colour gamut. Each diode ages independently, requiring periodic rebalancing.

Single Laser (LSP7T)

Blue laser diode excites a phosphor wheel to produce white light, split into RGB. The phosphor wheel is a wear item requiring inspection at 15,000+ hours.

UST Optics

Complex aspheric mirror and lens system projects a 100-130" image from just inches from the wall. Extremely sensitive to dust and alignment. Requires clean-room service.
